At Bempu Health

Our mission is to radically improve maternal and child health outcomes in developing countries by developing and commercializing life-saving health technologies.

The Bempu Hypothermia Monitoring Device is the first such technology in our portfolio.

Our Focus on Hypothermia

Hypothermia and infection are among the top causes of newborn deaths. Regular temperature monitoring can enable early intervention. However, seemingly simple temperature monitoring often goes overlooked in areas where nurses are few and parents are uneducated.

At Bempu, we have developed a novel bracelet for hypothermia which empowers a mother to better manage her newborn's health, and prevent such death and illness.

What is Hypothermia?

By definition, hypothermia occurs when the body's core temperature falls below 36.5ºC (97.7ºF).

The word hypo means "below", and the word thermia (thermē in Greek) means "heat."
